Distinguishing featuresThis is a small perennial, about 6-10 inches above the ground. Each plant has two oblong-oval leaves with an arched flower stalk (raceme) bearing small, fragrant, bell-shaped white flowers on the down side. Later in the summer, some of these plants may form orange fleshy berries. It is most often found in gardens in thick beds. |
