Case 5: "Matilda", female, 6 year old Bulldog

"Matilda" weighs 18 kg.

History:

    • Two week history of lethargy and poor appetite.

Physical Exam:

    • "Matilda" has poor, rapid, irregular pusles with a rate of about 120 bpm.
    • Heart rate is rapid and very regular, about 200 bpm.
    • Harsh lung sounds were heard without crackles.
    • A fluid wave was detected in the abdomen.
