Chest radiographs revealed mild pulmonary contusions, but severe chest and abdominal trauma was not present. Radiographs of the left hind limb revealed a closed overriding mid-diaphyseal fracture of the femur that was displaced caudomedially. Surgery was recommended to the owner and the dog was admitted for hospitalization.
