Nigel, a 14 month old male beagle, is brought into your practice with a non-weight bearing left forelimb lameness. Reluctant at first the owner finally admits to you that when attempting to change a ceiling light late last night he had a slight accident. The trash can he was using as a stepladder gave way and he fell on Nigel who was unfortunate enough to be resting on the carpet below. All other systems appear to be within normal limits, but upon orthopedic examination you note severe pain on manipulation of his antebrachium. Pain medication was administered and the animal was sedated for radiographs. |
