EDGE PACKING

Uniformity is a parameter of the scintillation camera that depicts the variability of count density.  A homogenous distribution of activity is essential to good diagnostic technique.  Non uniformity may be visualized as either a "hot" or "cold" spot.  Edge packing is an accumulation of counts at the edge of the field of view and may be a result of a defective collimator or improper adjustment of the x and y deflector plates in the CRT(cathode ray tube).
