This horse was presented being extremely resistant to examination of the oral
cavity and to palpation below the right ear.
Ophthalmologic examinations
and that of both ear canals revealed no abnormalities. Most significantly this horse
exhibited resentment with rider on board and collected. He became agitated and would
stick his tongue out to the left side of his mouth. He also exhibited lateral head shaking
when collected and would continue this behavior when stopped. Initial xrays were
equivicable. The bone scan revealed increased uptake of the 3rd cheek tooth. |
