In the soft tissue phase there is moderate pooling of
radioisotope in the palmar aspect of the right front fetlock seen in the 4 minute and
later images. When compared to the bone phase images, pooling of radioisotope is
slightly more prominent in soft tissue indicating both soft tissue and bony
involvement. The pooling of isotope in the proximal palmar pouch likely indicates
bony and cartilaginous debris exits in this location which is seen in horses with more
advanced osteoarthritis and cartilage damage.
