The results of the soft tissue phase of this scan revealed moderate to severe, intense, abnormal radioisotope uptake associated with the body and both branches of the right hind suspensory ligament. The bone phase of this area is normal. The extent of the disruption of the ligament has resulted in considerable hyperextension of the right hind fetlock joint. The prognosis for return to racing soundness is poor.
