Penn's Cardiology Service is the first veterinary service in the country to have an echocardiography machine capable of real-time 3-dimensional imaging. As seen here, 3D imaging produces a "holographic" image of the heart. This image can be rotated, sectioned, opened, and otherwise manipulated to improve visualization and measurement of cardiac structure and function.
