Ultrasound

Ultrasonograhpy was performed on the right hind proximal plantar metatarsus and the right hind pastern region.

The metatarsal sonogram showed mild active proximal suspensory desmitis.

The sonogram of the pastern showed an acute lateral oblique distal sesamoidean desmitis, with the lateral oblique sesamoidean ligament being approximately 2.5 times larger than the medial oblique ligament.

Proximal Metatarsus

This series shows the active proximal suspensory desmitis in the proximal metarsal region. The fibers of the suspensory ligament have lost their normal pattern and the overall structure is enlarged. Images are denoted at the top by their distance distal to the point of the hock. The ligament is relatively normal at 18cm, worsening distally.
