The gelding had normal vesicular sounds at rest and during deep inspiration in a rebreathing bag.

Vesicular sounds are ausculted over the entire lung field, but may be very quiet at rest. Auscultation of the lungs while the horse is taking deep breaths should be performed is usually easiest to achieve with the use of a rebreathing bag.
