Hello!!Signalment:
Quinn is an 11 year old Thoroughbred gelding.

History:
Mild abdominal discomfort since 6 pm on the evening prior to presentation. HR = 40 beats/minute, temperature = 101.5F, decreased GI motility, dry feces passed but normal rectal exam, no reflux with nasogastric intubation. Treated with oral fluids, flunixin meglumine and dipyrone.
On the morning of presentation was very depressed, had moderate muzzle edema, tacky pink mucous membranes with a capillary refill time of 3.5 seconds, temperature of 103.5F, HR = 66 beats/minute. The gelding appeared out of breath when walking around the arena. Treated again with flunixin meglumine, dipyrone and butorphanol.
