The Tarsus (Hock)

What Radiographs Should You Take?

In order to adequately evaluate the tarsus, a number of radiographic projections are necessary. They include: AP, Lateral, Medial Oblique and Lateral Oblique projections. In most instances, these four views will be adequate for an accurate evaluation of the joint. Occasionally, it is necessary to take a tunnel (skyline) projection of the tarsus, in addition to these other views.
