Clickable Images and Imagemaps

Clickable images are just like text links, in that you select them and they link you to another document. Instead of being an emphasized word, these are emphasized images. They usually have a colored border around them to indicate that they are links or "clickable images".

Image maps, on the other hand, are complex clickable images. You are linked to a different document depending on which section of the image you click on. These types of images are utilized in several of the CAL projects. You may be asked, for example, to select a lesion on an organ. If you select the proper area, you will be linked to a congratulatory document, whereas a selection of the improper area will link you to a document asking you to try again. It may only be one image, but it has multiple places it can take you.

Note: Image maps might not be supported by old versions of some browsers.
