            Horses are what are called a precocious species.  That means that they are behaviorally competent to keep up with the herd.  Most of the maintenance and socials behaviors of adult horses are present within minutes after birth in foals.  Some behaviors, including reproductive and aggressive behaviors appear early in a play form. This foal, less than one-day of age, is exhibiting a male-typical head threat toward the intruding photographer.
