LARGE ANIMAL EMERGENCY SERVICE TREATMENT PLAN

After induction in a recovery stall, the horse is hoisted onto a surgery table. The hooves and tail are covered with plastic and the abdominal area is clipped, scrubbed, and aseptically prepped  for surgery. Notice how visibly bloated this horse is. The excessive sweatiness from pain is also apparent. The horse will be turned to dorsal recumbancy prior to surgery.
