Upper Airway Videoendoscopy Setup

Upper airway videoendoscopy is performed before and during exercise
with a 100 cm long, 9.8 mm diameter
flexible videoendoscope passed up
the right ventral meatus.

Prior to exercise, the tip of the endoscope is passed up the right ventral meatus, positioned just caudal to the guttural pouch openings, and secured with Velcro to the noseband of the halter.

Sound is recorded with  a stationary microphone mounted on the front of
the treadmill.  Standing and high-speed videoendoscopy are recorded in real time with a Super VHS VCR.

Use the menu above to view the setup of the videoendoscope.
