Axial Deviation of the Aryepiglottic Folds (ADAF)

Axial Deviation of the Aryepiglottic Folds (ADAF) occurs during high-speed exercise on inspiration causing the aryepiglottic folds to move in an axial direction (towards the centerline of the tracheal lumen) creating a low frequency inspiratory noise.

Treatment is standing surgery with removal by laser or surgery under general anesthesia using traditional methods.
