To review the gross
pathology of skin lesions, either primary lesions (those directly caused
by the disease process) or secondary lesions (those that occur due
to underlying diseases, trauma or medications).
b.
To predict the likely histopathology from the gross
appearance of the lesions and to correlate the gross and histopathology
using case material.
Each example will consist of gross lesions and the corresponding
histopathology. This will allow the students to become familiar with the
terminology used and again review the material prior to partaking in the
dermatology course in the 3rd year and the dermatology rotations in their senior
year.
