Panfollicular Cyst
(TRICHOEPITHELIOMATOUS CYST)

A cyst in which two or all three layers of follicular epithelium may be identified.

Gross Appearance:

Histology:
•Cyst is lined by stratified squamous epithelium 
•Foci show changes as described above for infundibular cyst, follicular cyst, and isthmus cyst 
•A third type of cell lining the cyst wall consists of primitive, small, basophilic cell 
•Show abrupt keratinization to shadow cells (see pilomatricoma) 
•Small foci of cells with intracytoplasmic trichohyaline granules may be found between zones of infundibular and matrical keratinization 
•These cysts may progress to trichoepitheliomas
