Dilated Pore

A dilated infundibular cyst with a hyperplastic epithelium forming the deeper portions of the cyst wall.

Gross Appearance:

Histology:
•Cyst communicates with the overlying epidermis via a pore which may be quite wide 
•Lining epithelium has a prominent granular cell layer 
•Produces a compact laminated keratin 
•Keratin may protrude throught the pore forming a cutaneous horn 
•Outer wall of the cyst consists of an hyperplastic epithelium with a characteristic rete ridge formation
