"CHAMP"

2 year old male Beagle

HISTORY
Champ was reported to have chewed through a fence 5 days prior to being brought to the VHUP emergency service.  The owners reported that the following day he became lethargic and anorexic.  His entire cranial chest and right front leg were swollen.

PHYSICAL EXAM
The large mass cranial to the thoracic inlet and the right front leg swelling were determined to be hematomas.  The left popliteal lymph node was enlarged.  Champ was dehydrated and had a prolonged capillary refill time.  The amount of bleeding was disproportionately severe compared to the mild abrasions inflicted by chewing the fence.
