"Tugger"

11 year old male, castrated Mixed Breed 

 

HISTORY
-  diagnosed with diabetes mellitus by referring veterinarian one week prior to admission
-   referred to VHUP due to uncontrolled diabetes, melena, and vomiting

PHYSICAL EXAM
-  pale mucous membranes
-  tachycardia 
-  large abdominal component to respiration, including extending his neck and abducting his limb stance
-  lungs sound fluid filled
-  abdominal distension and apparent pain (very tense)
-  enlarged liver
