Patent Ductus Arteriosus 

Using post-mortem specimens and portions of a surgery film this presentation illustrates:
 

  • Anatomy of the ductus arteriosus 
  • Closing of the ductus arteriosus and development of the ligamentum arteriosum
  • Diagnosis of PDA based on auscultation, radiographs, and angiograms
  • Surgical ligation of a PDA
